It's finally launch day for this new collection, which I've been working on over the summer. This new artwork is called 'Beauty.' It's painted with oils on canvas and measures just under 1 metre square. Once I look at it, I can't stop, and the whole picture begins to pulse. It's a real statement piece and will dominate any space for someone looking for something striking. This, along with some smaller studies, is available on the website from today. Also, for the first time ever, I have produced a limited edition set of 12 fine art prints of this work, which can also be found in the online shop. Links in the bio. #originaloilpainting

You're passing Idsworth on the train in summertime. You have already seen deer leaping through the trees, a hare, and a herd of sheep sheltering from the sun under some trees. As you pass St Huberts Church, perched in the middle of the golden fields, you imagine it's 1066, the battle for England has been won by William at Hastings, and you wonder what Harold Godwinson was thinking, the last time he passed through here. It's the warmest day of the year so far, early summer. You've come to Arundel to sell your work. The castle dominates the skyline and commands your attention. A man beckons to you at the gate. "You are welcome inside, my friend," he says. You walk towards him and he tilts his hat as you go by. You lose your way inside the castle walls and peer out of a slender window to get your bearings. You see the keep across the courtyard and realise you're on the opposite side to where you had thought. You stop for moment to admire the topiary and the freshly cut grass. A large red kite catches your eye just as the hat man from the gate appears again and offers to show you the way. #arundel #arundelcastle #castle

Daydream. The first time I heard someone say the word 'skyscraper' I thought they were talking about the lines that aeroplanes make across the sky. As time went by, I learned that those lines are just vapour trails, but I still call them sky scrapers to this day. Yes, there are more words that go with this one however, as it's called Daydream, I think it's probably best if you look at it for a bit and make them up yourself. You're in Rotterdam again, it's been several days since you arrived and you decided to get away from the hustle of the city and the docklands for a while. You take the tram and a short walk to Kralingseplas. After walking around the lake, you find a bench to sit a while and rest. As you take in the iconic dutch views of the windmills, an Egyptian goose approaches you in search of something to eat. After a few squawks, it realises you don't have have anything so it sits down beside you and shuts it eyes. The view is amazing and you can't help noticing the lone duck on the water that reminds you of the one that comes to visit in the garden. As you sit, pondering whether it might be the exact same duck from home, you also close your eyes and, for a few minutes, both you and the goose take a well deserved nap comfortable in each others company. 600 x 300 landscape, oil on canvas #kralingsebos #rotterdam #windmill #lake #dutchmasters

It's spring and you're visiting Mottisfont. The daffodils are in flower and there's a few puffy clouds across the sky. The house looks as though it grew out of the landscape and it dominates the view. It's still a little cold for the time of year so you wrap your scarf tighter as you stop to imagine how many pilgrims have paused for this view over many hundreds of years. It probably doesn't change much, and it's only the vapour trail across the sky that gives away which century you are in. Oil on canvas. Hurst Castle is open and you're back again for the history, to look at the views, and to remember. There's a bench, a short walk from the house, so you stroll across the gardens and perch on the edge of the seat which is still a little wet from the recent rain. The sun pushes through the clouds in places and you can see there's rain in the distance. The view across the downs is amazing and you try to count how many sheep there are but your gaze constantly returns to the house. Uppark, what a house this is, and you wonder, what better place could there be to build such a house? Tomorrow you will return to London but for now, take in the air, be part of the landscape and know that you are part of the long history of the house. You imagine it's the year 793, June the 8th to be exact, and there's several viking ships arriving on the beach. It's not going to end well for those in the monastery. The fresh breeze reminds you that you need to get yourself moving, off the island, before the tide returns, and the sea covered road blocks your escape.
